Merriweather Post Pavilion
One of the most iconic electronic music duos — EMPIRE OF THE SUN is kicking off a huge ASK THAT GOD: AFTERLIFE North American Tour, following the success of their 2024 long-awaited comeback album & a wild run of 2025 tour dates, fans begged for more — and they sure heard you as the “Walking on a Dream” and “We Are the People” hitmakers take on another round of shows this year. A collaboration between established musicians Luke Steele & Nick Littlemore, the project soon dominated the world following the release of their 2008 title track, hitting the top ten of the ARIA charts and making it to the Billboard Hot 100. From then on, they’ve won the crowd with their retro-futurist persona with tracks that share nostalgic synth-pop vibes.

Get ready for one of the most awaited and legendary live shows coming to North America this year — EMPIRE OF THE SUN is hosting another round of their ASK THAT GOD: AFTERLIFE Tour. Get ready to bow down to the emperor as the ceremony begins… a majestic showcase of light and sound as the duo’s anthems take over. Known as one of the most creative and distinctive acts in the global EDM scene, they’ve been pushing boundaries for over a decade now, with every single era marking iconic moments, beats, outfits, and live tours.
From “Walking on a Dream” to “Ask That God,” Luke Steele & Nick Littlemore have constantly redefined what EDM music means for each heart. This time, they’re seeking a higher being to let it all make sense.
“Ask That God: Afterlife feels like a tour of unknowns and possibilities — new visions, new plateaus, fragile breakthroughs. I think things are going to happen on this tour that have never happened before,” Steele shared in an official release about the tour.
“The world is changing. It feels like a revolution in the world, and we have to unite. Love is the power weapon.”
These fellas are world-renowned industry disruptors, with flashy EDM beats as their weapon of choice. Over the years, they’ve built an empire of fans who stood by their heart for music creative projects that hit hard. While the duo’s latest album came out in 2024, subsequently met with a massive 2025 tour, and they’re bringing it back to the stage this year — they aren’t serving the same ‘ol banana this time around. They’re kicking things off with an all-new production. Steele and Littlemore are spicing things up just as a new era unfolds in their touring record.
Marking their first album since 2016, it definitely felt like a lifetime for their empire of fans. “The record presents itself as a joyful record but it is coming from moments of trauma to achieve that,” Steele shared with Double J.
Unpacking challenges they’ve faced over the past several years, Ask That God is an album that reunited the famed duo behind polished songs with gleamy hooks as they serve fresh looks with unique outfits in every era.
“It feels like a very pivotal time. We have a new song to sing, we have to step into a new doorway — a new chapter,” they shared in a statement looking forward to the tour. Sharing their desire to break barriers with their fans, it’s bound to be their most exciting and impressive production yet.
